The Chairman of the National Council of the SR, by his decree No. 272/2009 of 3 July 2009, announced the elections to local authorities of self-governing regions and the elections of presidents of self-governing regions.

The day of elections was set for 14th November 2009.

The elections will be held in line with the Law No. 303/2001 on Elections to bodies of self-governing regions and on supplements to the Civil Procedure Order as amended.
