The Speaker of the National Council of the SR, by his decree No. 235/2005 of 3 June 2005, announced the elections to local authorities of self-governing regions and the elections of presidents of self-governing regions. The day of elections was set for 26th November 2005. The elections will be held in line with the Law No.303/2001 on Elections to bodies of self-governing regions and on supplements to the Civil Procedure Order.
